How the Nakheel permit works
Apply ahead
Apply at least 24 hours before the move — earlier is safer, as permits can take a couple of business days. The move-in form also asks for a recent DEWA connection invoice, so connect DEWA first.
Vehicles on the permit
The permit lists the vehicles coming in, and Nakheel has allowed up to five. Tell us early how many trucks your villa needs, so the right plates go on the application.
Service charges
Outstanding service charges on the unit usually need to be cleared before a permit is issued.
Moving company details
The application asks for the moving company’s details and trade licence. We send them as soon as you book.
Trunk towers by other developers
Some trunk buildings have their own management and forms in addition to Nakheel’s process — check with your building.

Register or cancel Ejari, and open or close your DEWA account, as you move in or out.

What to know before you book
Service charges come first
Nakheel won’t process a move-in or move-out request while service fees on the unit are unpaid, and the landlord has to pay them. Ask your landlord or agent to confirm before you fix a date.
Shoreline and trunk access cards
Trunk buildings use access cards for entrances and car parks, and access has been restricted in the past where charges were unpaid. Make sure your card works, and ask management how the crew and truck get in.
New Year’s Eve on the Palm
In past years Nakheel has suspended contractors, including moving companies, on 31 December and issued no move permits for that day. Pick another date.
Frond villas and garden items
Villa gardens and terraces face the sea. Outdoor furniture, barbecues and gym equipment pick up salt and damp, so clean and dry them before packing to stop rust and mould in storage.

How Far Ahead Should You Plan a Frond Villa Move?
Villa moves on the Palm take more planning than a flat move. Book two to three weeks ahead. Here is how the time is usually used.

Two to three days before
