Housing Complex Moves and Long-Distance Moves to Abu Dhabi and Dubai
Delight Movers UAE are movers and packers in Al Ruwais — now known as Al Dhannah — for apartments and villas in the Ruwais Housing Complex and moves to and from Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the rest of the UAE. Ruwais moves are long-distance moves, so we plan the truck, route, gate access and timing carefully.
Our crews pack, move and set up your home with a fixed quote after a free survey.

The city is now officially called Al Dhannah. It’s the same place in the Al Dhafra Region, built around ADNOC’s refinery and industrial complex, and most homes are company housing.
One-bedroom flats to four-bedroom villas, about 10 km from the industrial plants. Homes are mostly allocated by ADNOC to staff, and the complex has its own schools, shops, clinic and hospital.
Access to the housing complex is arranged through the resident or employer. Expect ID checks at the gate — we send crew names, IDs and the truck plate in advance.
Al Dhafra is part of Abu Dhabi emirate. Private rentals use Tawtheeq and TAQA Distribution; for company housing, ask your employer how tenancy and utilities are handled.

Routes
Ruwais sits far west of Abu Dhabi city on the E11, so every move is a long haul.
Typical
~240 km
About 2 to 2.5 hours by car via the E11. A loaded truck is slower, so the drive alone takes a good part of the day.
Add the Abu Dhabi–Dubai leg on top. Heavy trucks are kept off the E11 between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, so the truck route is longer than the drive by car.
Typical
E11
West through the Al Dhafra Region — the road to the Saudi border, so expect heavy lorry traffic.
Typical
1–2 days
Smaller homes to Abu Dhabi often fit in one long day. Larger villas and moves to Dubai are usually packed and loaded one day and delivered the next.
Permits and paperwork
Gate access, tenancy and utilities — arranged before moving day.
Entry is arranged through the resident or employer, usually the housing or community services team. Ask them early what they need for movers and how far ahead — then send us the requirements and we supply crew and truck details. Key handover and any move-out inspection of company housing run on your employer's schedule, so book those dates first.
If you rent privately, Abu Dhabi tenancy contracts are registered in Tawtheeq by the landlord or an authorised property manager — through TAMM or DARI with UAE Pass, or at a typing centre. Documents usually include the signed contract, title deed or site plan, and Emirates ID or passport for both parties. Your utility connection depends on it.
Al Dhafra is served by TAQA Distribution. For a private rental, the account is usually set up once Tawtheeq is registered; when you leave, the final meter reading and bill lead to an Account Closing Letter. In company housing, check with your employer — utilities are often handled through the housing allocation.
Register Ejari and activate DEWA for your Dubai home.
Access and timing
Distance, heat and gate access shape moving day.

Early starts make the most of a long day and avoid the midday heat.
Crew names, IDs and the truck plate are shared before arrival so gate checks are quick.
Loads are strapped and padded for a long highway drive.
The Abu Dhabi or Dubai end is timed around truck restrictions there.
How it works
A clear plan from survey to the last box unpacked.
In person or by video — we check volume, access, lifts and anything that needs crating.
A written quote, crew size and truck plan for your moving window.
You arrange gate access with your employer; we supply our company documents, truck and crew details.
Room-by-room packing, with floors, lifts and corridors protected before anything moves.
Loading in sequence, transport, reassembly and placement to your plan, with packing waste removed.
Local problems
Ruwais is a company town at the far west of the country. The hard parts of a move here are access, distance and having no back-up nearby.
Most homes in the Ruwais Housing Complex are allocated through ADNOC or another employer, so the allocation date, keys and move-out inspection follow their process. Confirm those dates before you fix a moving day.
Security can turn away a person or vehicle that isn't on the approved list. We send the crew list and truck plate ahead and send the same crew on the day.
The nearest big city is about 240 km away, so a forgotten box or tool can't be fetched. We bring spare cartons, blankets, tape and tools for dismantling and reassembly.
Summer heat and blowing sand on the E11 are hard on furniture. We use covered trucks, wrap upholstery and electronics, and start early to keep to the midday outdoor-work break in summer.
Plants and offices in the industrial area have their own entry rules and safety checks. See our office relocation guide for Al Ruwais.
ADNOC has been adding thousands of homes to the complex. Newer blocks may have different lift, parking and loading points, so we survey by video at both ends where we can.
Long-haul timeline
Most Ruwais moves are staff starting or finishing a posting, so dates often depend on the employer. This is how we plan the long-haul days.
You get gate approval and the key or handover date from your employer; we send crew and truck details as soon as the date is fixed.
For villas and larger flats, the crew packs and dismantles the day before, so loading day can start at first light.
Loading starts early, before the worst of the heat, with every box labelled by room and numbered.
Goods strapped and padded for the long highway leg. Fuel and tolls are already in your quoted price.
Arrival in Abu Dhabi or Dubai is timed around truck restrictions and your building's lift booking — the same evening or the next morning, as agreed on your quote. For typical durations by home size, see how long a move in Abu Dhabi takes.
